A Secret (?) Trail at Mendenhall Glacier 🥾🌲

After visiting the Mendenhall Glacier we started walking back to the bus stop. Along the way, just off the parking lot, we noticed a sign for the Steep Creek Trail, a quick 1/4-mile, easy trail. Since we had some time before the bus came, we decided to check it out.

Almost immediately we felt like we had stepped into our own private forest away from all the crowds! This trail is mostly paved with boardwalks and for us it was an enjoyable and picturesque walk. We ran into one person at the beginning of the trail, and a ranger toward the end of the trail, but otherwise, we had the entire trail to ourselves! It’s too bad most people miss seeing this beautiful area so close to the tourist areas, but shhh…. don’t tell anyone! 🤫
